RSS stands for Real Simple Syndication and is an XML specification that allows us to provide information on our websites via text files.
This information can easily be reforted and published on other websites or can be used in association with desktop RSS readers such as:

Newsgator
Feeddemon
NewsWire (Mac OSX)
